Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
In honor of one of the most significant authors of our time...a man who knew a thing or two about solitude, and magic.
Used what I had within reach. My first foray into "sign painting" style. But faked it by drawing the letters instead of using a brush.
I'm not sure Todd always thinks so, but I like it.
From the AA terminal of LGA, some scribbles on a late night, 3-hour flight delay...in the last pages of a notebook and on the back of some work documents.
Included in the commission was a request for corresponding table numbers.
I sent these all off to the bride today. Can't wait to see this whole suite set up in a few weeks.
The stack on the left is of finished place cards. The stack on the right is all the ones I screwed up - some misspellings, a lot of misshapen letters, couple ink smudges and blobs, some spacing issues. Somewhat defeating. But you just have to keep going until you've got it. 230 names later. Done.
I'm happy with the results. And I hope the bride and groom will be as well.
Working on the first wedding hand lettering since my own wedding, creating placecards. Very excited, and trying not to go too overboard perfecting each one before moving on to the next.
A very simple, legible design for what will be a very classic, traditional wedding next month.
Another Valentine's Day. A time to reflect on our partnerships in love. This morning, as my littlest favorite left for daycare, he gave me a kiss and said "T'amo, mama" as he often does. But then he turned back and said, "more t'amo", looking for second goodbye kiss. A Happy Valentine's Day, indeed.
